Kaikoura titi awareness

Welcome to our website where your time may change theese birds lives.

Our natural ecosystem is slowly dying along with the wildlife.

Especially the kaikoura titi because in 2016 the kaikoura

earthquake dominated around1 third of their population.

Up to 40,000 mature breeding birds and chicks were crushed or buried instantly in landslides.

Also burrow collapses are estimated to have killed up to 80,000 more.

They now rely entirely on just two remaining wild breeding colonies in the remote Seaward Kaikoura Range
